Mysteries of Wikipedia
There are a couple of strange stories worth reading about on Wikipedia. Can you solve the mysteries?
The Bloops is a name given to the strange sound picked up by U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 1997, while listening to sounds near the south Pacific Ocean. The origins of the sound appears not to be man-made.
On August 15, 1977 a strange sound was heard on the Big Ear radio telescope which was setup to listen to sounds in space. This sound hasn't been heard again. What was this sound? Why hasn't it appeared again?

If your looking for the negative character on the Flintstones call "slep rock" his real name is Badluck Schleprock. You can find some information on Wikipedia. I haven't found anything that actually shows what episodes that he appeared in.
I am blogging this because I had a hard time finding the character base on my search for "slep rock" and the name wasn't listed among the characters on the main Flintstone page on Wikipedia. My search found other people had the same problem spelling Schleprock's name.
Hope this posting helps someone else out! Poor Schleprock, stuck with a name that many people can't spell correctly.
90 Days of Summer
Ninty Days of summer has official started! 90 days from today is the last day of August. Summer un-officially ends on September 7, Labor Day, which means that there are 97 days of summer left!
Early reports show that Cape Cod is going to have a great summer, lots of international visitors to the Cape. The Memorial Day weekend traffic was moderate, with reports that there was a ten mile backup on Route six.
Hope you have a great Summer!

Just wondering when do I get removed? Almost ten years later, do you really think I am still checking the FreeLoto website everyday?
This past weekend I helped my brother move from an apartment to his new house. It was a lot of work, but in the end it made things easier for him.
Here's a brief list of what to bring when helping someone move::
- Basic Tools - Screwdriver, Wrench, hammer and Pliers.
- Cordless Drill with attachment for screwdriver and wrench
- Water - Drink Plenty of Water
- Snacks - Get a bite to eat.
- Rope - You never know if you need more rope to tie things down.
- Elastic Strap - Sometimes straps are easier than rope.
- Duct Tape - Useful with boxes and closing bags.
- Marker - In case you have to label boxes
- Boxes - Go to UHaul, they will refund any unused boxes.
- Band Aids - You never know if you will get cut.
If you are taking multiple cars make sure that you have directions to the final destination. Having a GPS is a good idea..
Hershy's Fudgey Brownies
Yesterday I made a double batch of the Hershy's Fudgey Brownies. It was pretty easy to make and I was able to clean up the kitchen very quickly. I added some mini chocolate chips to the batter to add extra chocolate.
These are really good and full of flavor, try a batch and see for yourself.
Some old sailing terms that I remembered:
Ready to Bout. Hard a Lee
Prepare to jibe. Jibe-Ho
Ah the good old days of being on the J22, Privateer.
Really good advice from Seth Godin:
California Budget Issues
Wish I could just issue IOUs:
California's lawmakers failed to agree on a balanced budget by the start of its new fiscal year on Wednesday morning, clearing the way to suspend payments owed to the state's vendors and local agencies, who instead will get "IOU" notes promising payment.
I think creditors should reject the IOUs and demand payments and charge any late fees. Why should a government agency get any special treatment than regular citizens?
IOUs are not an option for United States Citizens and shouldn't be for the State of California.
